God’s Word is Medicine

My son, pay attention to what I say;
    turn your ear to my words.
 Do not let them out of your sight,
    keep them within your heart;
 for they are life to those who find them
    and health to one’s whole body.

Proverbs 4: 20-22

Faith for healing can waiver. We may start out strong in faith but as time goes by and the healing hasn’t manifested, our hope can waiver. Whether we are in need of physical healing or emotional or mental healing, God has promised to make us whole. We may believe that it is God’s will to heal us but resting in that faith while waiting is another thing.

This passage in Proverbs reminds us that God’s word has healing power. But simply reading over these verses may not be enough during a season of waiting on a healing to manifest. We need the word to move from our head to our heart. Plant healing scriptures into your heart by meditating on them, not just once but throughout the day. Speak them out loud throughout the day.

These verses tell us how to plant the seed of God’s word in our heart:

Pay attention to the word.

Turn your ear to the word.

Don’t let the word out of your sight.

Keep the word in your heart.

Scott Redmond puts it this way:

“Planting God’s healing Word into your heart is the first step to reaping a harvest of healing.

The seed of God’s Word will spring up and grow when planted in the good soil of your heart”.

It is God’s will that you be healed!

Father, thank You for Your word. I am grateful that Your word does not change and I can trust it and count on You to honor Your word. Help me to tend to the seed of Your word that has been planted in my heart. When doctor’s reports are unsettling and when symptoms are screaming, help me to purpose to settle Your word in my heart. In Jesus’s name I pray, amen.
