Jesus In John

Although the Bible tell us about Jesus from Genesis through Revelations, I decided to look just at the gospel of John and record what Jesus Himself says about who is and what He brings into our lives. So in His words and in no particular order:

resurrection from death — “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies”   John  11:25
a home in heaven — “In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.  If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.”   John 14:2-3
love —“Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love”.   John 15:9
freedom from judgment – “For God did not send His son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.  He who believes in Him is not judged;”   John  3:17-18a

friendship — “You are my friends if you do what I command you”   John  15:14

a way out of darkness — “I am the Light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life”   John 8:12

satisfaction –  “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me shall not hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst”   John  6:35

direction in life — Again therefore Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the Light of life “   John 8:12

abundant life –   “I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly”    John  10:10

protection — “I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.”  John 10:11

eternal life — “For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day”   John 6:40

peace  –   “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.”   John 14:27

fruitfulness –   “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him; he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing”  John 15:5

freedom – “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free”   John 8:31-32

intimacy with Him – “I am the good shepherd, and I know My own and My own know Me”    John 10:14

direction — “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me”  John 10:27

pathway to God — “I am the way, the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”     John 14:6

the Helper –  “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth…   John 14: 16

His abiding presence — “If anyone loves Me; he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.”  John 14:23

answered prayer  –  “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”   John 15:7

joy — “These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.”    John 15:11
