Great is Thy faithfulness, oh God my Father; There is no shadow of turning with Thee; Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not; As Thou hast been, Thou forever wilt be.
Ever get a song stuck in your head? I have many times, usually some ridiculous commercial jingle that plays and replays. I can’t change songs sometimes, but sometimes, I can, and when I can, I sing this song. It’s a beautiful reminder that God hasn’t changed. The same God who said I am the God that healeth thee is still saying those same words today.
When Jesus came to earth, He came to show us what our Father in heaven looks like, what He sounds like, what He places a priority on, what angers Him, what hurts Him, what blesses Him. All we have to do to see God is to look at Jesus.
And when we Jesus what do we see?
We see Him, moved with compassion, healing all who were sick and oppressed of the devil. Healing is still a priority in the kingdom of God. His compassions fail not, He changes not. As He has been, He forever will be.
Our God who heals you. Our God who heals me.
Next time a song gets stuck in your head, why not change the channel to Great is Thy Faithfulness?
Father God, thank You that Your compassions do not fail. Thank You that You are still in the business of healing and You know my need. Thank You for being my Healer God. When other songs get stuck in my head, help me change the channel to a song that reflects Your faithfulness. Amen
